Please beware that first you must confirm class availability by e-mail to ccmardiveclass@ualg.pt, before making any enrollment in a given curricular unit at the academic services.

The discipline “Advanced SCUBA Skills for Scientific Diving” is mandatory before taking “Scientific Diving Marine Ecology”. Students can only enroll directly on the second discipline if they hold a GUE Fundamentals course.

Students without any previous SCUBA diving course, may attend the “Advanced SCUBA Skills for Scientific Diving” discipline in the ‘non-diver’ option. In this case, students will attend a first module consisting of entry-level SCUBA diving training. For this, the prerequesites are 1) You must know how to swim; 2) Swim 200m without any swim or buoyancy aids, or swim 300m using a mask, snorkel and fins; 3) Float or tread in water too deep to stand for 10min without any swim or buoyancy aids.
